Kai Havertz return date revealed ahead of potential Champions League final

Arsenal’s top scorer Kai Havertz has been sidelined since February 2025, when he suffered a severe hamstring injury during a training camp in Dubai. The injury, which required surgery, was initially expected to rule the German international out until the 2025/26 pre-season.
However, recent updates from manager Mikel Arteta and Havertz’s own progress have sparked optimism among fans that the 25-year-old could return before the current campaign ends.
Kai Havertz, who has scored 15 goals in 34 appearances this season, shared a video on social media in April, captioned “step by step,” showing him back at Arsenal’s training ground undergoing rigorous rehabilitation.

This followed Arteta’s comments ahead of the Brentford match on April 12, where he suggested Havertz’s recovery was ahead of schedule. “Hopefully, we can have him back [this season],” Arteta said, noting Havertz’s “great work ethic” and comparing his mindset to Bukayo Saka, who returned swiftly from a similar injury.
Arteta later confirmed on May 2 that Kai Havertz could “play a few games” before the season concludes, provided his rehabilitation continues smoothly.
While a return for the Champions League semi-final second leg against PSG on May 7 seems unlikely, Arteta has not ruled out Havertz featuring in Arsenal’s final Premier League matches or a potential Champions League final on May 31, should the Gunners advance.

The forward’s potential comeback would be a massive boost for Arsenal, who have relied on midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker in his absence.
With only four Premier League games left and a Champions League title in sight, Havertz’s experience, highlighted by his 2021 Champions League final goal for Chelsea, could prove pivotal.
Fans are hopeful the German powerhouse will wear the red and white again soon, bolstering Arsenal’s attack in their quest for silverware.
