Paris Saint-Germain supporters have issued a defiant message to Arsenal ahead of next week’s UEFA Champions League semi-final clash, following PSG ‘s first Ligue 1 defeat of the season.

The French champions fell 3-1 to OGC Nice in a surprising result, just days before their crucial first-leg showdown against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, April 29.

Despite the setback, PSG fans made their expectations clear by unveiling a bold banner during the match, which read: “Take out Arsenal, take us to the final.” The statement reflects the high stakes and pressure facing Luis Enrique’s side as they aim to reach the Champions League final.

Arsenal, meanwhile, arrive at the tie full of confidence after an emphatic quarter-final triumph over Real Madrid. Mikel Arteta’s men stunned the 15-time European champions with a 2-1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu, sealing a 5-1 aggregate victory after taking a commanding 3-0 lead from the first leg. Jubilant Arsenal fans were even heard chanting, “Hand it over, Real Madrid,” as they celebrated a famous night in Spain.

The Gunners will now attempt to reach their first European final since 2019, facing a PSG team that previously knocked out both Liverpool and Aston Villa on their road to the last four.

PSG manager Luis Enrique fielded a full-strength lineup against Nice, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembélé, and João Neves. Despite recording 13 shots on target, the Parisians were unable to avoid defeat, with Fabian Ruiz scoring their only goal in a disappointing performance.

Speaking after the game, Enrique downplayed the impact of the loss: “It’s not a defeat that hurts. I would like to congratulate Nice, who played a very serious match. They defended very well — we had 30 chances,” he said.

“We would like to play the same match against Arsenal, to have 30 chances. We will do our best for the supporters. Nice offered an exceptional defensive performance, but we should have won this match when you look at the overall picture.”
