Italian heavyweights Napoli are emerging as frontrunners to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior this summer, with the Polish international attracting strong interest from multiple Serie A clubs and French side Olympique Marseille.
Despite not being a regular starter, Kiwior has remained a valuable squad member for Mikel Arteta’s side. Since joining from Spezia in January 2023, the 25-year-old has made 65 appearances for the Gunners, often stepping in reliably during injury absences — most notably as cover for Gabriel Magalhães in recent weeks.

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, Napoli have made Kiwior a priority as they seek to bolster their defence. While other Serie A giants including AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus have reportedly contacted Arsenal, Napoli are believed to have the edge in negotiations. The Gunners have reportedly set an asking price of £30 million for the versatile defender.

Interest in Kiwior is not limited to Italy. French outlet Foot Mercato reports that Ligue 1 club Marseille have also been monitoring the Polish international for some time. Kiwior is said to be on a shortlist of defensive targets as the French club look to reinforce their backline ahead of next season.

While Arsenal could be tempted to cash in, some argue the club should retain Kiwior due to the depth he provides. He is currently the only natural left-footed backup to Gabriel in central defence, and with Italian star Riccardo Calafiori frequently sidelined by injury, Kiwior remains a crucial rotation option.
Keeping him would also allow Arsenal to prioritise reinforcements in more pressing areas — notably midfield and attack — rather than spending resources on replacing a player who already fits Arteta’s system.
As the summer transfer window approaches, a decision on Kiwior’s future could depend on Arsenal’s wider squad strategy — and whether Napoli are willing to meet their valuation.
