Arsenal are intensifying their efforts to secure the signature of Valencia’s promising centre-back, Cristhian Mosquera, as the summer transfer window approaches.

According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, the Gunners are preparing a formal offer for the 20-year-old Spain youth international, who has emerged as a top target for sporting director Andrea Berta.

Mosquera, standing at 6ft 2in, has impressed with his commanding presence, interception skills, and ability to play out from the back, making him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s tactical vision.

Mosquera’s contract with Valencia, set to expire in 2026, has fueled speculation about his future. Reports suggest his agent will soon meet with Valencia to express the player’s desire to move, with Arsenal leading the race despite interest from Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan.

Valencia’s owner, Peter Lim, may accept a fee between €20m-€25m if Mosquera does not renew, a bargain for a player of his potential. Reports indicate Arsenal’s proactive approach, with the club keen to capitalise on Mosquera’s low release clause.

The young defender’s versatility—he can also play right-back—adds to his appeal. With 33 La Liga appearances this season, Mosquera has showcased his recovery skills and composure, qualities that align with Arsenal’s ambitions of competing for major silverware and regular Champions League football.

His dream of playing at the highest level could see him favor a move to the Emirates, where Arteta’s project is reportedly the most attractive option.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Mosquera signals their intent to bolster their defensive depth, especially with uncertainties surrounding players like Jakub Kiwior.

If successful, this signing could be a masterstroke, securing a talented, young defender with the potential to become a cornerstone of Arsenal’s backline for years to come. Fans will be eagerly awaiting updates as negotiations progress.
