Max Dowman to join Arsenal’s first team next season

Arsenal have told talented midfielder Max Dowman that he will be a part of the first team next season, according to the Mirror.

He is expected to be a part of the Gunners’ squad for the pre-season tour to Asia.

Dowman is regarded as one of the brightest talents in England and has already caught the attention of manager Mikel Arteta.

The England youth international has been described as ‘unreal’ by midfielder Declan Rice, who has ‘taken it upon himself’ to help him improve.

Dowman is not eligible to play for the first team this season as he does not turn 16 until December.

He could break Nwaneri’s record of being the youngest player to debut for Arsenal as well as in the history of the Premier League.

The 15-year-old was in spectacular form for the academy this term, chipping in with 24 goal contributions across all competitions.

He scored 15 goals in the U18 Premier League, three less than Arsenal’s top scorer in the competition, Dan Casey.

Dowman finished the season as Adam Birchall’s side’s most consistent player, scoring 14 goals in seven games.

His brilliant form did not help the Gunners win the Southern division title as they finished third.

They were beaten to the title by Aston Villa who also defeated Manchester City to the National League title on Saturday.

Dowman also made his debut for the U21s this season, coming on as a substitute in their Premier League 2 clash with Brighton & Hove Albion in December.

He could get more minutes with Mehmet Ali’s side next season after impressing with the U18s.

He has been named in England’s U17 squad for the European championship and is expected to play a vital role for them.
