Arsenal are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, with the Gunners aiming to bolster their attacking options in the summer transfer window.

The London-born England U21 international, who has drawn comparisons to Jadon Sancho for his flair and directness, has emerged as a key target for Mikel Arteta, with reports suggesting sporting director Andrea Berta is driving the deal.

Bynoe-Gittens, who joined Dortmund from Manchester City’s academy in 2020, has impressed with 11 goals and four assists in 40 appearances this season, including a standout brace against Eintracht Frankfurt.

His pace, dribbling, and ability to play on either flank make him an ideal fit for Arteta’s high-pressing, fluid system. Arsenal’s scouts have been closely monitoring the winger, with reports from Germany indicating the club could emerge as the strongest suitor despite competition from Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

Dortmund, struggling in 10th place in the Bundesliga and facing potential exclusion from European competitions, have set a £70m valuation for Bynoe-Gittens, though some sources, including Sky Deutschland, suggest they could accept closer to €60m.

Recent German media reports claim the player has submitted a transfer request, signaling his openness to a Premier League return. Arsenal’s interest intensified after positive scout reports, with Arteta seeing Bynoe-Gittens as a long-term investment to complement Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

The Gunners’ need for attacking depth was exposed in their recent defeat to Bournemouth, highlighting the urgency for a versatile winger. Bynoe-Gittens’ ability to stretch defenses and create chances aligns with Arsenal’s title ambitions.

However, Dortmund’s reluctance to sell cheaply and interest from other clubs could complicate negotiations. If Berta secures the deal, Bynoe-Gittens could become Arsenal’s next young star, following the path of Saka and Martinelli under Arteta’s guidance.
