Kieran Tierney stands out for Arsenal in final appearance vs Southampton

Arsenal finished the season on a positive note with a 2-1 Premier League win over Southampton on the road on Sunday.
The Gunners were anticipated to pick up a comfortable victory at St Mary’s but the Saints were up for the fight despite relegation.
Kieran Tierney eventually broke the deadlock in his final Arsenal appearance. The Scot opened the scoring in the 43rd minute from a Ben White assist.
The Saints pulled level shortly after the break through Rod Stewart but Arsenal grabbed the win late on.
Martin Odegaard came off the bench to score a 90th-minute winner with a sublime long-range strike.
The game was a dead rubber for the Gunners, who were pretty much assured of the second spot.
However, the players still needed to turn up to register a win. The Saints did not prove an easy opposition as they defended with much focus for 90 minutes.
Tierney was a surprise starter at left centre-back yesterday. Aside from his goal, he completed 98 percent of his passes and 100 percent of his long balls (2/2).
The 27-year-old also won his aerial duels (2/2) alongside two recoveries and four clearances.
It was a perfect farewell for his Arsenal career despite injuries hampering him in the latter half.
Tierney has been richly admired by the club’s faithful over the years and he will now return to Celtic. The left-back has already agreed a pre-contract with them.
Alongside the Scot, the Gunners will part ways with Jorginho whose contract expires this summer. The Italian is poised to join Flamengo on a free transfer.
Raheem Sterling and Neto are confirmed to return to Chelsea and Bournemouth after respective loan stints. There could be several more departures in stores.
