Arsenal defender Katie McCabe stole the show during the club’s Women’s Champions League victory parade on Monday, treating thousands of fans in north London to a raucous display of chants, tributes, and playful digs at rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners were celebrating their historic 1-0 win over Barcelona in Lisbon on Saturday night, a triumph that made them the first English side to win the competition since their own success 18 years ago. Stina Blackstenius was the hero of the night, scoring the decisive goal in the 74th minute to seal a famous victory.

McCabe, who captains the Republic of Ireland and played the full 90 minutes in the final, was front and centre at the celebrations, delivering impassioned speeches, joining in with fan-favourite songs, and offering heartfelt praise to her teammates.

At one point, the 29-year-old led the crowd in a rendition of her own chant, “We’ve got McCabe,” sung to the tune of Billy Ray Cyrus’ Achy Breaky Heart, before orchestrating a singalong tribute to match-winner Blackstenius.

But the moment that had both fans and parents talking came when Katie McCabe grabbed the microphone from teammate Beth Mead during a rousing performance of We Are the Champions. As confetti rained down and the trophy was held aloft, McCabe turned her attention to Arsenal’s north London rivals.

“What do we think of Tottenham?” she asked, prompting the crowd’s thunderous reply: “S***!” The familiar chant continued before Mead managed to reclaim the mic, bringing the episode to a close with a wry smile.

McCabe’s energy didn’t stop there. In another memorable moment, she offered an emotional tribute to captain Kim Little, calling her a “professional” and a “f***ing legend,” before sheepishly apologising for her language during a later interview.

“She is the Scottish queen,” Katie McCabe declared. “She is what it means to be a captain of this fantastic football club. What she does day in, day out, what she does behind the scenes—she’s a professional and a f***ing legend.”

The festivities continued well into the night, with several players sharing glimpses of the celebrations on social media. England forward Chloe Kelly posted videos from the dancefloor wearing a “Champions 2025” Arsenal shirt, while teammate Alessia Russo, recently crowned the FWA Footballer of the Year, shared further clips from the after-party.

Pop star Jess Glynne also made a special appearance to perform for the jubilant squad, adding a musical flourish to a night Arsenal fans won’t soon forget.
