Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has lifted the lid on the key to his impressive form in Mikel Arteta’s side, crediting strong chemistry with his teammates and the trust built with the manager as major contributors to his recent performances.

The Polish international has stepped up admirably in the absence of Gabriel Magalhães, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury. Kiwior, drafted into the starting lineup during a crucial phase of the campaign, has formed a formidable centre-back partnership with William Saliba, helping Arsenal remain unbeaten in six matches since his return—including vital home and away victories over Real Madrid.

In fact, the duo remain undefeated in all 11 matches they’ve started together in the heart of the Gunners’ defence, a record Kiwior attributes to their strong bond on and off the pitch.

“I feel very good on the pitch with everyone because we have a great relationship and we talk a lot with each other,” the 25-year-old to the official website. “We’re prepared no matter who the opponent is. We live very well on and off the pitch, so I feel I have a good connection with anyone on the pitch—it doesn’t matter who I’m playing with.”

Kiwior also praised Arteta’s holistic approach to player management, which he says has kept him mentally and tactically prepared, even during spells on the bench.

“The coach tries to talk to the players not only about the things on the pitch, but also about different things in life, so we have this good relationship because he cares about us,” Kiwior added. “He helps me very well because I’m always prepared. Even when I was sitting on the bench, I could feel his support. Especially now, when he needs me, I’m always 100% ready to help the team.”

Jakub Kiwior is set to make his 62nd appearance for Arsenal in Wednesday night’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, a milestone that will mark his most appearances for any club since joining from Spezia in January 2023.

Known for his adaptability, the defender has played across the entire backline and takes pride in his versatility.

“It’s definitely a big strength for me that I can play in different positions,” he said. “I’ve played a few games in the left-back position or the right-back position, but I feel good on the pitch no matter what position I’m in. I try to go out there and show my best.

“I played a few games as a left-back, then I was playing more in the centre, but actually closer to the right-hand side. I feel I’m able to give my all in all those positions, and it’s good that way for me.”
