Arsenal’s summer transfer window is heating up, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo emerging as a prime target for the Gunners, according to David Ornstein.

The 24-year-old Brazilian winger, known for his flair and versatility, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, and recent updates suggest the interest is intensifying.

According to transfer expert David Ornstein, Rodrygo is “obviously really well liked at Arsenal,” with the player enjoying significant popularity among the club’s hierarchy. However, Ornstein cautions that several factors, including club-to-club negotiations, player terms, and financial feasibility, will determine whether a deal materialises.

Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid fuels speculation, as per David Ornstein. With his contract running until 2028, Real have set a €80 million (£67.5m) price tag, a figure Arsenal are reportedly exploring.

The Brazilian has struggled for a consistent starting role under Carlo Ancelotti, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 30 La Liga appearances this season. Reports suggest he’s frustrated playing out of position on the right, preferring the left wing, where Arsenal could offer him a starring role.

Mikel Arteta’s ambition to bolster Arsenal’s attack is clear. “We need a goal threat and firepower,” Arteta recently stated, emphasising the need for creativity and goals.

Rodrygo, with his proven track record—68 goals and 50 assists in 267 appearances for Real—fits the bill. His potential arrival could complement Arsenal’s pursuit of a striker, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko also on the radar.

However, challenges remain. Rodrygo’s €10m-a-year wage demands pose a hurdle, and competition from clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea adds complexity.

Sky Germany reports Arsenal’s reluctance to match his salary, while Spanish sources suggest Rodrygo may prefer to stay and fight for his place under Real’s incoming manager, Xabi Alonso.

Despite these obstacles, Arsenal’s interest in Rodrygo signals their intent to make a statement signing, as per David Ornstein. If the Gunners can navigate the financial and logistical hurdles, Rodrygo could be the key to unlocking a major trophy next season. Fans will be watching closely as talks progress.
