Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Leicester City’s talented playmaker Bilal El Khannouss following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship.

The 21-year-old Morocco international impressed during the 2024/25 Premier League season, making 32 appearances and contributing two goals and three assists from an attacking midfield role. Despite his individual quality, El Khannouss was unable to prevent Leicester from dropping out of the top flight.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs closely monitoring El Khannouss, with Wolves also expressing interest. The midfielder is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2028 and is currently valued at £25.2 million by Transfermarkt.

Leicester face a challenging summer as they look to retain their key players in light of their relegation. New manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has already felt the pressure of fan expectations, having been booed earlier this season for substituting El Khannouss.

Responding to the criticism, Van Nistelrooy said: “That one I noticed. It’s okay. You have to accept it. I’m making substitutions to impact the game – whether physically, tactically, or based on the opposition. When it’s not received well, I’ll take that one.”

Arsenal’s interest in El Khannouss is part of a broader plan to strengthen their attacking options this summer. The Gunners are also reportedly eyeing Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, who is coming off a standout campaign with 20 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international, who can play as a striker or winger, is valued at £50 million and is expected to leave Atalanta this summer.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto recently told Fabrizio Romano’s channel: “We previously said he had a 99% chance of leaving Atalanta – now it’s 100%. There are clubs from Serie A, the Premier League, and even Spain interested in him.”

With Mikel Arteta keen to bolster both midfield creativity and attacking firepower, Arsenal’s summer transfer activity looks set to be busy.
