Arsenal receive triple injury boost ahead of crucial Newcastle clash

Arsenal have been handed a major boost ahead of their must-win Premier League fixture against Newcastle United this weekend, with three key players returning to training.
The Gunners, who drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, must avoid defeat against Newcastle to keep second place in their own hands going into the final day. A point or more would also mathematically seal Champions League qualification for a fourth consecutive season.
In a significant development, Kai Havertz has returned to full training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The 25-year-old forward had been out since February with a hamstring injury sustained during a warm-weather training camp in Dubai. Initially expected to miss the remainder of the season — and potentially the start of the next — Havertz’s swift recovery has surprised even Arsenal’s medical staff.

The injury had required surgery and an extended rehabilitation period, but Havertz’s determination to return earlier than projected has paid off. Manager Mikel Arteta hinted weeks ago that the Germany international might return before the end of the campaign, and those hopes have now been realised.

Havertz took part in an open training session at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, a development confirmed by several sources. His return could provide a much-needed lift to Arsenal’s midfield and attack, where his intelligent movement and link-up play have been sorely missed.

There was further good news as both Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard also took part in training ahead of the Newcastle clash.
Rice, who missed the draw against Liverpool due to a minor hamstring strain, was spotted in full training during a session open to season ticket holders. While there had been concerns over the England midfielder’s fitness, his involvement suggests he is on course to feature this weekend.
Trossard, who was forced off at Anfield with a suspected muscle problem, was also present and participating in the session. His availability will be another boost for Arteta, especially with midfielder Mikel Merino suspended following his red card on Merseyside.
As Arsenal look to finish the season strongly, the return of Havertz, Rice, and Trossard could prove decisive in their final push for a top-two finish.
