Arsenal have opened negotiations with the representatives of Valencia centre-back Yarek Gasiorowski as they look to finalise a summer move for the highly-rated youngster, according to FootballTransfers.
The 20-year-old Spanish defender has drawn attention from several top European clubs in recent months, and Arsenal are now stepping up their interest ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window. Reports earlier this year suggested the Gunners were ready to challenge Real Madrid for his signature, and sources now confirm that discussions with the player’s camp are underway.

Gasiorowski, who extended his contract with Valencia in February until 2027, could still be available if the La Liga side receive a suitable offer. Despite a strong run of form in late 2024, the defender has seen limited game time under new manager Carlos Corberán, having been an unused substitute in Valencia’s last 10 La Liga matches. Nonetheless, he remains highly regarded across Europe, with Arsenal keen to capitalise on his situation.

While Arsenal have also been linked with Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen, no formal talks have taken place regarding a move for the 20-year-old centre-back. Gasiorowski, by contrast, has emerged as a more immediate target, with Arsenal eyeing defensive reinforcements before the start of the 2025–26 campaign.

In addition to pursuing Gasiorowski, Arsenal are expected to be active across several areas of the pitch this summer. The Gunners are targeting Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres as part of their ambitious recruitment strategy.
However, one target looks set to slip through the club’s grasp. Norwegian starlet Sverre Nypan is reportedly closing in on a move to Aston Villa, despite strong interest from the North London side.
With Mikel Arteta determined to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts, Arsenal’s transfer activity is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
