Arsenal have reportedly informed Gabriel Martinelli that he remains part of their long-term plans, despite placing a valuation of over £50 million on the Brazilian winger and not initiating fresh contract talks.
Martinelli, 23, signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal in February 2023, keeping him at the Emirates until 2027, with an option for a further year. However, the forward has struggled to replicate the electrifying form he showed in the 2022/23 season. He managed 10 goals and five assists in 50 appearances across all competitions this term, many of which came from the bench.
According to The Athletic, while Arsenal remain committed to keeping the Brazilian, they have yet to open significant discussions over a contract extension and do not view the matter as urgent. However, the club could revisit that stance if a sizeable offer arrives, with Martinelli valued at more than £50 million.

The uncertainty surrounding Martinelli’s future comes as Arsenal intensify their efforts to bolster their options on the left wing. The club has been linked with high-profile attackers, including Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
Arsenal’s message to Gabriel Martinelli is that they intend to keep their best players, and the Brazilian is among them.
No significant contract talks have been held, and it isn’t viewed as urgent, but the Gunners value him at over £50million.

Rodrygo has emerged as a target for Mikel Arteta, who is pushing the Arsenal hierarchy to be bold in the summer transfer market in a bid to compete for major honours next season. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Gunners are “seriously considering” a move for the 24-year-old Brazilian, with internal talks already in progress.

Rodrygo, who has 12 goals and nine assists in 34 appearances this season, is reportedly open to a move after being pushed down the pecking order following Kylian Mbappé’s arrival in Madrid and tensions with teammates such as Jude Bellingham. Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid could be willing to let the Brazilian go for a fee between €100–120 million (£84–101m) to facilitate further signings.
The winger, under contract until 2028, is also being monitored by Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, setting the stage for a potential transfer tussle this summer.
With Arteta looking to upgrade his attacking options and Martinelli facing increased competition for his place, Arsenal’s attacking lineup could see significant changes ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
