The Gunners quest for a prolific striker has reignited their interest in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, with recent reports suggesting Arsenal are leading the race for the 21-year-old Slovenian.
Sesko, who has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season, including a stunning strike against Bayern Munich earlier this month has caught the attention of Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta. His performances have left even Harry Kane in awe, reinforcing his status as one of Europe’s top young forwards.
The Gunners’ interest in Sesko dates back to last summer, when talks failed to advance due to Eddie Nketiah’s presence and Sesko’s decision to extend his Leipzig contract.

However, a reported ‘gentleman’s agreement’ allows Sesko to leave this summer, with a release clause starting at €60m (£49.5m) but potentially rising to €80m (£66m) based on performance metrics.
Arsenal, alongside Chelsea and Manchester United, are prepared to meet Leipzig’s demands, with some sources claiming the Gunners have already offered €70m (£59m). Recent reports indicate Berta has recently held talks with Sesko’s representatives, and the player is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates.

Sesko’s attributes—height, speed, and clinical finishing—make him an ideal fit for Arteta’s system, addressing Arsenal’s need for a true number nine.
With only Kai Havertz crossing the ten-goal mark this season, Sesko’s 35 goals in 78 games for Leipzig highlight his potential to transform Arsenal’s attack. Despite competition from Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, Sesko remains the favored target, with journalist Miguel Delaney predicting a summer move.
However, Leipzig’s £86m valuation and interest from Bayern Munich and AC Milan could complicate negotiations. Berta’s expertise will be crucial in securing Sesko, whose arrival could elevate Arsenal’s title aspirations.
Fans are buzzing with anticipation, hoping Sesko will be the missing piece in their Premier League puzzle.
