Arsenal are poised for a transformative summer transfer window, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo emerging as a prime target to bolster Mikel Arteta’s attack.
The 24-year-old Brazilian forward, reportedly valued at €100-120 million (£84-101m), is considering a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu due to a reduced role following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival and tensions with teammates like Jude Bellingham.
Recent posts on X, including one from @Plettigoal on May 21, 2025, indicate Arsenal are “seriously considering” a transfer, with behind-the-scenes talks already underway.

Rodrygo, contracted until 2028, has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 34 matches this season, showcasing his versatility across the frontline. However, his frustration at being overshadowed by Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. has fueled speculation, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea all in the race.
Spanish outlet Defensa Central reports Real Madrid’s openness to selling Rodrygo to fund new signings, potentially making him available for a record-equalling fee.

For Arsenal, landing Rodrygo would be a statement signing, especially as they seek an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left flank.

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson called Rodrygo an “upgrade,” envisioning a dynamic partnership with Bukayo Saka behind a world-class striker.
The iconic No. 14 shirt, previously worn by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, is currently vacant and could be a fitting number for Rodrygo, aligning with his ambition to play as a left winger or attacking midfielder, as he expressed to Cadena COPE.
However, the financial hurdles are significant. Arsenal’s budget is strained with interest in other targets like Martin Zubimendi and a top striker, potentially pushing the cost beyond £100m.
Despite Rodrygo’s Instagram denial of a rift (“Stop making stuff up”), his future remains uncertain as Xabi Alonso’s impending arrival at Madrid looms. Arsenal fans are buzzing, but will Arteta secure this marquee signing?
