Arsenal should steer clear of Dean Huijsen this summer

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen as they begin early planning for the summer transfer window.
Under new sporting director Andrea Berta, the Gunners are looking to improve key positions in their squad. One surprising area being looked at is the centre-back role.
This possible move has raised questions from fans and football experts. Arsenal have had one of the best defences in Europe over the past few years.
Why signing Dean Huijsen may not be the right move for Arsenal

Arsenal have enough defensive options
Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba have formed a solid partnership that has made Arsenal’s defence one of the strongest in the Premier League.
The Gunners also have Jurrien Timber, Jakub Kiwior, Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu. All of them are capable of playing both at full-back and in central defence.
This depth gives Arsenal enough flexibility and cover in case of injuries or rotation. Signing Huijsen could create an unnecessary crowd in the position.
The 19-year-old is talented but still developing. He would likely be behind at least four players in the pecking order. That could limit his growth and affect the squad’s balance.
Arsenal needs to focus on keeping their current defensive line settled, rather than adding a player who may not play often.
Focus should be on the midfield and attack
Arsenal’s needs are more urgent in other areas of the pitch.
The midfield still lacks depth. Martin Odegaard has played many games this season without much rest or rotation. He needs support and competition.
Thomas Partey is set to renew his deal, and Martin Zubimendi has been linked with the club. But that should not stop Arsenal from adding more strength in the middle.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have been inconsistent in attack. Arsenal need more firepower to support Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
If the Gunners want to win the Premier League, they need players who can make an impact right away.
Huijsen has potential and may become a top player in the future. However, Arsenal must focus on experience and quality in midfield and the final third.
