RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has become one of the most sought-after talents ahead of the summer transfer window, with Arsenal now in advanced discussions to secure the highly rated forward, according to multiple reports.

Sesko, 21, has been attracting growing interest from several top Premier League clubs following an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga. The Slovenian international first rose to prominence with Red Bull Salzburg before making the switch to Leipzig in 2023, where he has continued to develop into one of Europe’s most promising young strikers.

Fabrizio Romano, writing in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, confirmed that Arsenal are firmly in the race for Sesko and are one of several elite English clubs monitoring his situation. “Arsenal for sure, then all the other top clubs have had contacts to be informed on the situation. Nothing decided yet,” Romano stated.

Arsenal are understood to be prioritising the signing of a clinical No.9 this summer as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad for a renewed title challenge next season. Sesko, who has a reported release clause of €80 million, is said to be high on the club’s list of targets.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has further revealed that talks between Arsenal and RB Leipzig are already underway. The Gunners’ new sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly in contact with Leipzig’s managing director Marcel Schäfer to explore the possibility of a deal.

While Arsenal are also keeping tabs on other forwards, including Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, their pursuit of Sesko appears serious, with Arteta believed to be a strong admirer of the Slovenian striker.

Leipzig’s failure to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League has only intensified speculation surrounding Sesko’s future, and a Premier League move is becoming increasingly likely.
