Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard remains a pivotal figure for Mikel Arteta’s squad, but his future at the Emirates Stadium is shrouded in uncertainty as contract negotiations continue.
With his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2026, recent reports indicate that Arsenal are eager to secure the Belgian’s services for the long term, while interest from other clubs adds complexity to the situation.
According to multiple sources, Arsenal have opened advanced talks with Trossard for a new four-year contract that would keep him at the club until 2029, when he will be 34.

The Gunners’ confidence in Trossard’s fitness and longevity is a driving factor behind the proposed deal length. Since joining from Brighton for £27 million in January 2023, Trossard has proven his worth, contributing eight goals and six assists in 26 Premier League starts this season.
His ability to play across the frontline and deliver in clutch moments, such as his brace against Ipswich, has made him indispensable.
However, a recent post on X by @HandOfArsenal on May 19, 2025, suggests that Trossard’s future remains “undecided,” with Atletico Madrid’s sporting director Andrea Berta recently holding talks with his representatives.

This follows speculation fueled by emotional Instagram posts from Trossard’s wife, Hilven, which some fans interpreted as a potential goodbye to the Emirates. Saudi Pro League clubs, including Al Ittihad, who had a bid rejected last September, are also reportedly preparing fresh offers for the summer.
While some Arsenal fans urge the club to extend Trossard’s contract, others question the wisdom of a long-term deal for a player approaching his mid-30s, especially with interest in younger wingers like Nico Williams.
Mikel Arteta’s faith in Trossard is clear, but the club must balance sentiment with strategy. As negotiations progress, Arsenal fans await clarity on whether the Belgian will remain a Gunner or seek new horizons.
