Arsenal already have a perfect alternative for summer target Martin Zubimendi

Arsenal may battle it out with other top clubs in Europe for the signature of young English sensation Adam Wharton if their top target Martin Zubimendi, who is tipped to replace departing Italian midfielder at the heart of the Arsenal midfield this summer, becomes unavailable.
According to recent claims by the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old England international has caught the eye of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona, with his impressive performances in the Premier League.
Adam Wharton, valued at £60m by his club, is a holding midfielder who has already made a significant impact in the national team.

The young English sensation has also impressed Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, who praised him, describing him as “an excellent holding midfielder” with a “brilliant left foot” and a “really good player.” The interest in Wharton comes as Arsenal looks to strengthen their squad, particularly in midfield, with many players, including Thomas Partey, linked to the exit door.

Arsenal may edge Liverpool to the signing of the midfielder. With Ryan Gravenberch’s emergence as a No.6, the need for another midfielder may not be urgent for Liverpool, but the club is also reportedly discussing the possibility of signing Wharton.

However, Liverpool’s priorities lie elsewhere, with the club expected to spend around £30m on Jeremie Frimpong to reinforce the right-hand side of defense.
Additionally, the Reds will need to devote significant resources to buying a No.9 and a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson. Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes will likely consider these priorities before deciding on whether to pursue Wharton.
