Arsenal are continuing to cast an eye toward the future, with teenage defender Juan Giménez of Rosario Central emerging as the latest young talent on their radar.
According to Sky Germany, the Gunners are monitoring both Giménez and Real Madrid Castilla prospect Víctor Valdepeñas, as they look to bolster their ranks with promising young defenders for the years ahead. While Arsenal prepare for a pivotal summer transfer window, the club remains committed to building for the long term alongside its push for immediate success.
Giménez, 19, is currently making waves in Argentina’s top flight and is a regular for Rosario Central’s first team. The right-footed centre-back—who can also play in defensive midfield—has also featured for Argentina’s Under-20 side, further enhancing his reputation as one of the country’s brightest defensive prospects.

With his contract set to expire in December 2025, several European clubs are eyeing a move this summer in hopes of securing a deal before his value rises further. Sky Germany reports that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are currently leading the chase, but Arsenal remain keen, alongside other top clubs across Europe. Manchester United have also previously been linked.

Arsenal’s interest in Giménez comes as part of a wider strategy. While first-team reinforcements remain the priority this summer—particularly in attack, where the Gunners are expected to pursue a striker ready to make an immediate impact—sporting director Andrea Berta is also looking to invest in future stars who could develop under Mikel Arteta’s watchful eye.

Arsenal’s recruitment team is already hard at work planning for a busy transfer window—one that could include a mix of elite-level additions and rising stars like Juan Giménez.
